Tasks
The role will involve provide a key role in the design of physically integrating equipment onto our Royal Navy Submarine Fleet. -Performing Engineering Calculation (Structural, Thermal, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) -Production of Installation procedures, Production Test procedures & Qualification Test procedures. -Reviewing and providing 3rd party equipment mechanical installation guidance against: - -Review of Integrated combat designs and their platform interfaces providing feedback in terms of Mechanical design (Structural, Thermal, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) in the Naval/Marine domain. -Producing Engineering Drawings -Coordination with client and 3rd party stakeholders to resolve or manage physical integration and develop design solutions. -Interface and Installation Guidance Information. -Design Information to support design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.). -Resolution of mechanical design issues

What You Bring
Work Experience We are seeking an experienced Marine Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growth UK Defence business to work on critical UK Submarine projects. We are looking for Subject matter Experts who can support Platform Design and Equipment Installation Services. -Ideally experience or understanding of Marine Combat Systems Equipment -Ideally knowledge of Submarine Materials Toxicity standard/database BR1326A (or surface ship equivalent) -Familiar with Def Stan 08-107 General Requirements for the design of Electro technical and Naval Weapon Equipment. -Experience of reviewing equipment Installation Guidance Information -Experience designing and developing to Defence Standards, ideally for the Marine environment. -Foran/CADS5 model to support part approvals, supplier's manufacturer's data packs, etc. -Significant experience with Marine Mechanical Design -Mechanical design in FORAN/CADS5/Viso to BS 8888. -Experience with design and qualification to defence environmental standards (Def Stan 08 – 123 & Def Stan 00-35)
