Tasks

-Manage overtime requirements to meet sales, production and maintenance requirements -Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with regulatory agencies are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals and administer safety initiatives. -Ensure the execution of the daily production plan. Explains significant variances from the plan and provides leadership for improvements within the operations groups -Ensure quality of product during process and adjust production plans to meet customer requirements -Participate in the daily morning production meeting to communicate with production and maintenance -Provide feedback to the maintenance team to support operational objectives -Interface with regulatory agencies as required -Uses the production modules under the SAP system -Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns -Provide technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Team, Engineer and Production Supervisors -Ensure operations personnel perform quality work -Provide feedback to the operation team on goals and expectations status -Actively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and production

What You Bring

-Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions -Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mining, Business or related field is preferred -Proven in leading operational excellence through applying behaviour-based management -Fluency in spoken and written English -Extensive knowledge and background in operations supply chain business processes, continuous manufacturing and production processes, and working contemporary concepts of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing -5+ years management and/or supervisory experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment; previous experience as department manager or superintendent for larger facilities would also be a fit; industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred -Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
