Assist in civil engineering design, analysis, and project coordination for land, transport, and water projects.

Tasks

-Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality. -Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives. -Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using tools such as MS Office Suite. -Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects. -Assist in the development and design of roadway and highway projects, including the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates. -Assist in the planning and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including hydraulic modeling and simulation. -Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions. -Provide design support for small wastewater treatment facilities and assist with contractor submittals, including reviews against specifications and maintaining submittal logs for ongoing construction projects. -Assist in the design and preparation of plans for commercial, residential, and site development projects, focusing on grading, drainage, and utility layouts. -Prepare governmental permitting packages, respond to requests for additional information, and maintain permitting logs for large-scale projects. -Review detailed plans and specifications to ensure conformity with project scope, design standards, and constructability. -Evaluate design alternatives by analyzing parameters such as typical sections, alignments, right-of-way requirements, and cost to determine the most effective solutions.

What You Bring

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. -Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program. -Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures. -EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date. -Previous experience through an internship with a civil design firm is beneficial. -Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. -Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
