Senior CAD Technician - Highways

Tasks

-Leading the CAD team and providing support and mentoring to ensure quality in project deliverables. -The position will involve internal client liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, winning work to achieve team utilisation and financial control of projects. -Responsible for ensuring work is delivered to budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA & QC -Direct line management, including mentoring and managing junior staff ensuring technical excellence is in everything we deliver. -Responsible for supporting retention and succession planning of CAD team. -Oversee adherence to technical standards and meet quality control and quality assurance requirements in accordance with WSP CAD Standards, specifications and BIM standards. -Responsible for quality and managing quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions

-Experience and an interest in helping the junior members of the team to improve their efficiency by implementing best practices. -Problem solving and originality. -Skill managing by identifying skills gaps in team and helping team in upskilling by providing on job support and training. -Strong communication skills and the desire to be a part of a successful close knit team -Cultural awareness, conscientious and an open mind are essential requirements for the role. -Solid knowledge of the relevant standard details in compliance with UK market requirements -The ability to produce 2d and 3d models, design and construction drawings in delivering Highway and Drainage schemes. -High degree of self-motivation and ability to work under pressure. -Expertise in producing highway infrastructure drawings such as GA, pavement, kerbing, signs & lines, site clearance, cross sections, long sections, drainage layouts, schedules etc. -Expertise in the use of AutoCAD, Vehicle tracking, PDS signs, PDS lines. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
