The Role
Overview
Lead estimator for SMP & civil projects, preparing cost estimates and tender documentation.

Tasks
-Review drawings and scopes of work to ensure alignment with pricing and execution strategies -Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets within tight deadlines -Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and scope alignment -Develop accurate first principles SMP and Civil cost estimates across structural, mechanical, piping and civil disciplines -Write and review construction methodologies and project schedules/programs tailored to each tender -Maintain, track and report on tender progress, pricing, performance and documentation -Participate in client meetings and site visits to assess and review works as required -Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders -Ensure compliance with client QA/QC requirements and company policies and procedures -Identify and advise on commercial, contractual and scope departures -Perform material take-offs and compile comprehensive cost documentation -Complete detailed tender submission schedules and documentation

What You Bring
-Sound business acumen and adaptability across diverse project environments -Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to high performance -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team -Minimum 5 years’ experience in Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Piping Construction works as an Estimator or similar (mining industry experience desirable) -Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience -Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail -Demonstrated experience in SMP tender development, material take-offs, and project execution planning -Proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Projects -Eligible to work in Australia -Construction White Card
