Tasks

-Research, plan, organize, deliver and maintain programs and train managers and associates in safety. -Assist with the compilation and submission of company data required by management, customers, and regulatory agencies. -Assist in coordination of emergency response operations including medical, chemical, fire and evacuation/rescue, designating responders and arranging for any necessary training -Assist in managing outside safety vendors. -Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis for workplace incidents/injuries. -Participate in federal, state, insurance company and corporate investigations and regulatory safety inspections. -Inspect facilities, work environments, machinery, and equipment to identify existing or potential safety and health hazards. -Provides professional expertise, guidance and training to Butler Associates in all areas of Health & Safety. -Assist Company facilities in implementing the corporate safety management system effectively and consistently. -Coordinates and/or conducts training for MSHA, OSHA requirements and certifications for associates. -Maintain safety training, facility files, and other safety records as required by company policy and regulatory agencies. -Identify deficiencies and opportunities at Butler locations to assist in the development of corporate safety initiatives. -Works within and promotes the mission and values of Butler Machinery Company. -Assist in determining corrective or preventative measures and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented to improve culture and are in conformance with corporate and customer policy, and regulatory standards. -Assist with new employee orientation regarding safety culture, policies, procedures, and practices. -Develop and implement safety programs and practices to minimize or eliminate employee injuries, vehicle accidents, property loss, and liability to the public. -Understand and provide accurate interpretations of OSHA, MSHA, and other applicable safety related regulations, to keep the company in compliance with regulatory agencies and other applicable laws. -Assist in safety culture development, initiatives, training, and implementation. -Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with employees at all levels within the Company.

What You Bring

-Ability to be proactive and strategic, as well as tactical. Solid communication skills. -Ability to effectively train others. -Excellent knowledge of all safety-related federal, state, and local regulations and laws including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations. -Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring. -Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field preferred. -Ability to write and prepare safety related materials, reports, correspondence, videos, etc. -Strong computer skills and the ability to learn to effectively use company software – with training. -Travel 30 to 60% of the time, some overnight travel will be required in this position. -Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and customers. -Minimum of two years’ safety or related experience required. -Able to manage time wisely and productively. -5 years of MSHA experience preferred.
