Cost Engineer - Nuclear

Manage project cost control, reporting, and change management for Hinkley Point C.

Tasks

They will be responsible for managing and controlling the finances of projects or programmes using appropriate tools to analyse the performance of the schedule/plan. Cost Engineers should report the cost performance of the plan to senior members of the team and communicate effectively with stakeholders responsible for delivering the plan to ensure that it is representative of current progress. -Understanding risk and opportunities and integrating the cost of these strategies effectively into the plan/schedule -Integrating with project estimates, schedules and performing the cost management requirements -Producing monthly reports -Managing the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation. -Developing, managing and updating project and programme plans including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools.

Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build). -Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage. -Ability to understand and use cost management software. -Understanding of earned value analysis -Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role -Understanding the tools (e.g. EVM) to assess project cost performance against the baseline schedule. -Understanding the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change. -Experience working as a Cost Engineer on major infrastructure, energy or highly regulated projects -Understanding of cost management methodologies and techniques. -Understanding project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management
