The Role

Overview

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Caterpillar heavy equipment on customer sites.

Tasks

-Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools. -Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers. -Maintain and track inventory and tooling within approved inventory levels. -Perform routine maintenance work. -Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications. -Adhere to Finning expense claim policies and ensure proper management of expenses. -Ensure all service documentation and billing is accurate and properly recorded. -Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. -Work as part of a team to meet Finning customer service commitments. -Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed. -Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely fashion and on customer site. -Travel to customer facilities and worksite where and when required, communicating field work to Service Supervisor to maximize service hours.

What You Bring

-Mechanical aptitude with strong knowledge of parts and repairs. -Understand and adhere to all Finning policies, including Code of Conduct and Safety. -Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal. -Ability to read and comprehend instructions and service literature. -Understanding of the Caterpillar product line and ability to repair all equipment will be considered an asset. -Computer literacy along with an understanding of Finning systems and software programs would be considered assets. -Ability to multi task, detail oriented, positive attitude, and team player. -Customer Focus: Being successful means continuously paying attention to customer needs and adapting as these evolve. This heightens the importance of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer centric solutions. -Ability to create standard correspondence. -Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision and contribute positively to safe work environment. -Courage: Being comfortable with the conflict that is inherent to being a champion of an idea or course of action. Meeting tough situations head-on to constructively resolve them.
