Tasks

The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for translating the creative vision of a project into practical and detailed drawings, ensuring that all elements of the design are feasible, functional, and meet technical standards. They work closely with interior designers, architects, and contractors to ensure that the design is executed properly throughout the construction process. Working closely with designers, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders, they verify that all issued documentation (IFC) aligns with the approved design concept, promptly resolve technical challenges, and maintain project schedules while ensuring compliance with all building codes and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in upholding quality of design standards and facilitating a smooth, efficient construction process—ultimately transforming the interior design vision into a successfully built project. 16. Participate in site meetings to review progress and resolve construction challenges.  Formulate section’s budget in conjunction with departmental budgets, track expenses and ensure adherence to the assigned budgets 18. Ensure proper documentation of on-site changes and approvals for record-keeping.  Agree on the performance goals at the beginning of the year in discussion with the reporting manager  Take inputs from section heads to understand the workforce requirements and propose a workforce plan to the department lead 4. Use software like SketchUp, Revit, or AutoCAD to generate drawings/renderings to solve design-related issues before execution. 8. Ensure all site activities comply with building codes and project specifications. 15. Coordinate site inspections with local authorities and regulatory bodies.  Forecast workforce requirements for the section and propose the same to the department head 14. Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.  Collaborating on project timelines and objectives. 17. Provide feedback to design teams on potential design modifications based on site conditions.  Identify the training and development requirements for self and agree on them with the reporting manager  Actively engage in the development of operational and business plans of reporting sections by providing requisite inputs and approvals.  Ensuring compliance with local building codes and obtaining approvals. 9. Address and resolve on-site discrepancies between design and construction. 5. Conduct site visits to ensure the design implementation is in line with the drawings and resolve any issues that arise during construction or installation. 7. Ensure that designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.  Actively seek inputs from superiors and peers, to identify opportunities for improving own performance and developing own capability  Define the operating framework, policies and quality standards for the department  Participate and provide inputs in various control, governance and advisory committees, as applicable to the role 6. Support the project manager in scheduling, budgeting, and tracking progress to ensure deadlines are met and the project stays within budget. 19. Assist in final project handover by ensuring completion aligns with design intent and client expectations 1. Create detailed technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and Revit (for coordination purposes)  Formulate departments budget in conjunction with organizational budget, tracks expenses and ensure adherence to the assigned budgets  Supervising construction processes and addressing any issues that arise 12. Facilitate clear communication between designer, construction teams, and clients. 11. Track project timelines and assist in minimizing delays. 13. Ensure design documents and revisions are up to date and communicated to the site team.  Ensuring that designs are coordinated with the supporting disciplines (Architecture, Structure, MEP. Etc)  Collaboration: Working with designer, engineers, contractors, and authorities to solve issues.  Convey organizational strategy to the team, set sectional objectives and provide leadership direction to achieve goals 10.  Organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.  Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. 2. Correctly detail materials, finishes, and furnishings based on design concepts, functionality, durability, and aesthetics.  This role is a blend of creative design and technical expertise, requiring an individual who can balance aesthetics with functionality and precision.  Solid understanding of space planning, building codes, and interior materials.  Strong technical drawing and drafting skills in both CAD and Revit  Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy  Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve on-site challenges efficiently. Language Skills  Proficient in English (Arabic desirable)  Team-oriented but able to work independently when required.  Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring design accuracy and adherence to quality standards  Strong technical understanding of ID related detailing  Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture  Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.  Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience  Collaboration: Strong team player with effective communication and coordination skills. Years of Experience  Creative, yet practical in finding solutions to design challenges. Educational Qualification  Attention to detail and ability to create accurate, high-quality work.
