Tasks

-Review drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate the required data into Discipline drawing -Assist the Discipline Supervisor/Engineering Manager in the preparation of quarterly forecast and manpower planning -Shutdown hierarchy drawing -Plan Discipline Level 4 detail deliverable schedule/ register compliant with the overall execution plan -Identify project staff needs based on knowledge of individual engineers' skill sets and provide requests to the Discipline manager -Coordinate project Design interdisciplinary activities to ensure timely and organized distribution of information amongst all Lead Designers -Assist the Department Manager in identifying departmental needs including the development of personnel and technical capability -Travel to the fabrication yard or offshore to assist in mechanical completion, hookup, and/or commissioning, as required -Provide information on employee performance to the Discipline Supervisor/Engineering Manager -Lead the Discipline team during project audit (internal, Customer, and third-party technical audit) and Design Review -Assist the Discipline manager and Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager in the Performance Evaluation of project team member -Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and maintain preferred Company procedure, specification, standard, practice, and operational requirement -Develop conceptual layouts based on experience and good offshore engineering practice & develop these through detailed design -Alert the project team of any deviation from the scope or a need to change the order -Act as project-based Discipline point of contact in communications and meetings with Customer counterpart -Coordinate with other Discipline Lead Engineers and Designers to ensure timely receipt of necessary design input -Ensure substantive communication is documented -Assist in providing inputs for actual, plan, and forecast progress report that include associated productivity -Act as project-based Discipline point of contact in communications and meetings with Project Team, Customer, vendor/supplier and/or subcontractor counterparts; and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc. -Ensure discipline designer have sufficient input information for the drawing or model being undertaken -Participate in finalizing deliverable list and deliverable, ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity -Ensure design deliverables are completed and issued per project specifications, MDR, and project Level 2 & 3 procedures, and within agreed schedules and budgets -Coordinate the timely flow of information and data between design discipline -Prepare and develop arrangement and detail conceptual, FEED, studies, and detail design drawings of high technical quality and professional consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction -Perform design verification through single discipline checks (SDC)and/or inter-discipline checks (ID), provide comments to Lead Designer -Identify changes to the scope and promptly raise change notifications and provide any necessary supporting documentation and estimates -Prepare forecast schedule of delayed deliverables -Manage lead designer interface to ensure there are no scope of work gaps or overlaps, and work is being completed in accordance with an agreed schedule -Anticipate project engineering needs and plan accordingly -Prepare bid and project Discipline engineering budget and execution plan, update as required -Plan, organize, and assign tasks, responsibilities, and manhour budget to the discipline team, and verify tasks are completed within budget -Develop 3D models and ensure clash-free with other disciplines -Layout drawing -Research customer standards and procedures to prepare project-specific design procedures and standards for submission to the Customer for approval -Review IDC design documentation for the project for a detailed technical interface -Review and approve discipline project -Assist the lead designer to supervise in the preparation of key discipline drawing -Participate in design review and audit -Ensure instrument item clash identified in the 3D model are addressed and resolved -Coordinate large Design team -Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to others -Report an error and suggest a resolution for the same -Ensure affected interface responsibilities are clearly defined and understood -Direct small or medium Instrument Design team as Lead Designer -Keep the Discipline Supervisor/Engineering Manager apprised of all activity and concerns, technical, budgetary, and manpower related -Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of Discipline execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule, and all Discipline manpower resources - agree allocations with the Engineering Manager -Assist fabrication as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design, problems, clash, etc. -Interface with other department to obtain input for Discipline design and drawing -Lead the design team of the assigned work area and completed within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, MDR, and project-specific procedures and to а high professional standard -Keep the Discipline Supervisor/Engineering Manager apprised of all activity, progress, and concern -Liaise with the responsible designers to expedite discipline design information and data as necessary to meet the agreed schedule -Participate in the development and maintenance of Global Procedures, Software, Guidelines, and Standard -Liaise with discipline lead designers to ensure interface responsibilities are clearly defined and understood -Review all project IDC design documentation for detailed technical interface -Interface with all disciplines to develop a clash-free design -Lead projects as Lead Designer engaging the participation of other disciplines Coordinate all activities within own discipline and Discipline interfaces with other disciplines -Assist Discipline Lead Designer in preparing estimates for proposal and job scope change, which include execution statement, work schedule, and manhour requirements, identify software requirements and any other project-specific requirement -Participate in design review and audit as required -Monitor changes to scope and ensure changes are communicated to all impacted discipline design lead -Participate in 3D model review, and ensure instrument review comments are close -Travel to the fabrication yard or offshore to assist in mechanical completion hookup, and/or commissioning as required -Provide similar support for a variation order -Raise and approve technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and maintain preferred McDermott procedures, specifications, standards, practice, and operational requirement -Attend project kickoff and review meeting, vendor/supplier meeting, engineering and design meeting, and offshore site survey, as required -Monitor progress and maintain the deliverables register on an ongoing basis -Document substantive communication (communication that results in a significant decision or assignment of action) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager -Prepare/review and (as lead designer) approve instrument design deliverables such as: -Develop an understanding of the business and process -Develop and maintain the project job book -Coordinate the development of estimates for proposal and job scope change, which include execution statement, work schedule, and manhour requirements, identify software requirements and any other project-specific requirement -Highlight knowledge concepts and ensure learnings are entered into the system -Identify and provide training to staff in specific techniques and proprietary software -Review comments from customers & other agencies on documents and drawing produced by the team, and resolve and give guidance on their update and incorporation -Liaise with the Engineer responsible for the timely expediting of Vendor Data to efficiently progress the project according to schedule requirement -Highlight knowledge concepts and ensure learning is entered into the system -Generate IDC design documentation for the project -Become fully familiar with the project scope of work, specification, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements; identify concerns as early as practicable and take the appropriate initiative to address the issue -Set priorities, organize own work and time to meet objectives, and (as a Lead Designer) forecast and plan resource requirements -Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified -Review project schedule and fabrication schedule in relation to construction sequence, milestone, and design scope -Panel and console drawing -Participate in forums and represent the company as subject matter expert (SME) -Participate in the development and maintenance of Global Procedures, Software, Guidelines, and Standards -Maintain single discipline and inter-discipline check drawings and filing, that include final archiving -Ensure compliance with the project execution plan and the timely completion and archive of drawings and document -Prepare work forecast to identify change management plan, corrective action, and real-time schedule -Assist in the maintenance of departmental technical guidelines and standards -Apply knowledge and/or skills to a range of activities -Prepare and review discipline deliverables such as: -Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them to proceed with their deliverable -Participate in the clash resolution meeting, as required -Maintain responsibility progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action -Assist discipline supervisor/engineering manager in interviewing a job applicant -Incorporate approved lessons learned into level 2&3 drafting procedures and standards, as applicable -Advise the Lead Designer and Design Supervisor/Engineering Manager of problem areas and/or manpower concern -Liaise with other discipline support groups to ensure clearly defined interface, deliverables, and schedule are met -Provide similar support for Variation Order -Review vendor drawings and documents and incorporate required vendor data into discipline drawings and document -Set up and maintain the Discipline Master design drawing and document files -Monitor KPI measurement results and take corrective action as necessary to improve Discipline performance, which includes performance at interface with other -Provide Discipline input for actual, plan, and forecast progress reports that include associated productivity

What You Bring

-Minimum of 14 years of experience with a major contractor or consultant of which 9+ years of experience in predominately offshore oil and gas -Logic diagram -Detailed knowledge of associated industry detailing standards and codes -Single discipline check (SDC)/inter-discipline check (IDC) -Capable of handling multiple projects -Working and/or reviewing experience in PDMS and/or PDS/SPM -Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills -Recognized expert in one or more skill sets -Knowledge of QA systems and a good communicator -Detailed knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting and material control systems (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) -Become familiar with the contract scope of work, specification, and schedule, and fully familiar with all inter-discipline requirements: including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issue -Detailed knowledge of AutoCAD and/or macro compilation skills would be an advantage -3D model instrument scope -High school graduate with a diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Design, or Drafting in a related discipline or equivalent experience -Schematics and blocks diagram
