The Role

Overview

Lead inspector for bridge & roadway projects, ensuring compliance, reporting and supervising.

Tasks

-Supervision of Junior inspector. -Attend progress meeting and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues. -Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications. -Observing general job safety practices. -Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents. -Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction. -Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements. -Assist the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules, RFI’s etc) -Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports. -Assist the project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination. -Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.

-CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I -CTQP Pile Driving Inspection -CTQP Grouting Technician Level I CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I -CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I -ACI Concrete Technician -CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures) -Professional Engineer (PE) license required -Bachelor's of Engineering graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection. -CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I -The ability to work as a team a plus. -CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II -CTQP QC Manager -CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II -Experience with Construction Engineering and Inspection encompassing the management of the construction phase of transportation projects, including engineering and inspection services. -Inspection and testing of soils, concrete, steel and masonry materials for road and bridge projects. Experience with LADOTD construction and specifications desired.
