Tasks

-Ensure compliance with Cooper Construction’s safety policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety plans by all workers and subcontractors. -Facilitate onboarding and safety orientation sessions; deliver or assist with bilingual training where needed. -Lead safety meetings or stand-downs as needed to address critical issues or reinforce important safety messages. -Manage and maintain QR code-based safety systems, including SDS access, emergency contacts, rally points, and digital safety forms. -Monitor high-risk activities including hot work, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, crane lifts, elevated work, and excavation. -Oversee proper PPE use and promote safe work practices throughout the jobsite, especially in high-hazard industrial environments. -Participate in and support incident investigations, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up with the Safety Director. -Conduct and document daily pre-task safety meetings and ensure completion of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) or DAHA forms. -Perform daily safety inspections on an active industrial construction site; document and report findings using company safety platforms. -Coordinate with construction management, subcontractors, and outside safety entities to foster a proactive and engaged safety culture.

What You Bring

*This role will spend the first year at a job site in Mobile, Alabama. After the job is complete, the Safety Manager can be based in any of our Alabama office locations and travel to jobsites accordingly. Cooper Construction is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Manager to join our team on an active industrial project. This role is responsible for ensuring that all workers, subcontractors, and visitors operate in a safe and compliant manner consistent with company policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial safety practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build a culture of safety through collaboration, leadership, and consistent on-site engagement. -OSHA 30 certification is required. Candidates who do not currently hold this certification will complete the OSHA 30 training upon hire. The company will provide the necessary training. -Three to Five Years of Experience in a Commercial or Industrial Safety Role -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, or a related field or relevant experience in the construction industry.
