The Role
Overview
Inspect, assess, and manage vegetation for utility power line clearance.

Tasks
-Ongoing training and assistance with obtaining industry certifications. -Secure clear rights-of-way for new electric line and pole construction. -Inspect and assess customer properties for trimming or removal of trees. -Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public. -Audit tree contractor’s work for compliance with utility’s specifications. -Record, organize, and document associated vegetation work for later trimming and removal by a tree crew. -Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. -Operate system forestry computer programs and record systems. -May be asked to provide high-level cost and time estimates based on planned work. -Handle customer complaints related to scheduled trimming/removals and/or completed trimming/removals, including clean-up and property damage.

What You Bring
-Must be able to work alone, and outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. -Certified ISA Arborist is a plus. -Must be able to read maps and identify tree species and growth rates. -Must be able to identify required removal and trimming work based on utility specifications. -Being Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus. -All job offers are subject to pre-employment drug screening and a background check. -Prior experience in Utility Vegetation Management or Forestry is preferred. -Must have basic computer skills. -Participation in the Employee Referral Program (must meet eligibility requirements). -Familiarity with GIS mapping programs is a plus. -Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. -Must be able to adapt to change. -Familiarity with vegetation removal, utility line clearance, and utility vegetation methods and equipment. -Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, and show attention to detail. -Unless otherwise noted, we do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
