Tasks
-Support system integration of avionics hardware with software, sensors, and aircraft systems. -Prepare detailed engineering documentation including schematics, test procedures, design reports, and compliance documentation. -Troubleshoot and resolve issues in prototype and production avionics systems. -Closely work with electronics technicians, customer engineers, software developers, and certification specialists. -Work with supply chain and procurement teams to qualify replacement parts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure long-term supportability of avionics products. -Ensure all designs meet safety, reliability, and airworthiness certification requirements. -Design, develop, and test avionics electronic hardware, including analog and digital circuits, embedded systems, and power electronics. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales and Business Development to develop new capabilities supporting the needs of the customer. -Perform reverse engineering of legacy avionics hardware to support redesign, modernization, replication, or replacement of obsolete components and systems. -Manage diminishing supply (DMSMS) and obsolescence risks by identifying end-of-life components, evaluating alternatives, and developing mitigation strategies, all within a Class 2 change classification. -Conduct reliability, environmental, and functional testing in compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, DO-254).
