  • Input service data in business operating systems
  • May be required to conduct out of town business or attend training
  • Incorporate time management skills on a continuous basis
  • Maintain effective productivity and grow the service department business by meeting and exceeding department goals
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Prepare quotations of all service related projects and follow up on a weekly basis. Projects include emergency calls, scheduled service calls, and preventative maintenance agreements.
  • May be required to support the sales and parts department during special circumstances such as vacation coverage or position vacancies
  • Work closely with the Generator parts department to make sure all parts are on hand for service jobs
  • Monitor all daily invoicing and supervise the work in progress (WIP) report on a daily basis
  • Evaluate and reestablish yearly work goals
  • Handle external customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Respond to incoming service related calls
  • Schedule service technicians daily in an efficient manner
  • Ensure all Tampa/S FL branch service technicians have what they need to perform their jobs on schedule
  • Monitor and schedule all periodic maintenance agreements
  • Provide technical assistance to direct report field technicians

  • Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Bachelors degree, or 5 to 7 years of service and management experience (industrial experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of generator technician experience
  • Required to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as applicable
  • Must operate forklift vehicle
  • Computer literacy is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to handle high pressure situations and adapt well to organizational and market changes
  • Proven interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Well developed sales skills including excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic marketing knowledge
  • Working knowledge of a database business systems
  • Ability to handle working in a NON-climate controlled environment whether at customer site or in branch warehouse
