Union General Maintainer 2

Overview

Maintain small to medium buildings, systems, and equipment with basic repairs, cleaning, and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• drywall repair
• tile repair
• signage maintenance
• contractor monitoring
• preventive maintenance

Tasks

-Responds to basic tenant requests and emergencies -Repairs drywall/tiles (floor and wall) -Maintains signage -Completes general maintenance of door/window hardware -Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable codes -Monitors work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards -Escalates unusual events, occurrences or unsafe conditions to supervisor -Performs light duties: sweeping, general cleaning, painting/patching, garbage removal, snow removal, etc. -Respond to environmental/comfort complaints if required -Inspects/repairs interior/exterior elements i.e., walls, sidewalks, etc. -Inspects roof for debris; reports damage -Participates in reviewing of operating standards, policies/procedures as required -Maintain a clean work environment -Maintains/repairs concrete precast/cement -Completes basic preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required -Assists trade as required with light maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment -Complete filter changes

What You Bring

-Previous handyperson experience – 1 year -You should have excellent customer service skills in ensuring client requests are responded to professionally; -Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future -Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written); -Ability to work as part of a team.
