Tasks

-When not in the field, duties may include equipment calibrations and repairs, prep and packing for future projects, data reduction and processing, report writing, and tasks of that nature. -During testing, the Environmental Scientist will be at the location recording data, operating equipment, or working in the trailer recovering samples, performing analysis, etc.

What You Bring

-Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds. The testing projects can involve moving equipment to, and working at, elevated test locations, such as an exhaust stack platform or a rooftop. Access to the test location may be by elevator, stairs, or a ladder. -Possession of a valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment motor vehicle records check to confirm a good driving record. Once hired, maintaining valid DOT driver status (not Commercial Driver’s License) is required. -College degree is required, science or engineering preferred. -Completion of assigned responsibilities in a team setting with strong written and oral communication skills, and moderate computer skills. -Must be able to work comfortably throughout all the seasons as much of the work is outdoors. -Successful completion of a background check and drug test (including marijuana) prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire. Once hired, participation in the TRC random drug testing program. -Successful completion of all required annual safety training. -The Environmental Scientist will become proficient in the various EPA sampling methods and develop knowledge about many types of industrial processes.
