Tasks

As a Production Welder, you will perform MIG and TIG welding in a CWB-regulated environment to build structural and body components for heavy-duty transit buses. You will work from blueprints and weld symbols to produce consistent, high-quality welds that meet safety, durability, and production standards. -Visually inspect welds for porosity, undercut, cracks, and proper bead profile, performing rework when required -Work with fabricators, weld team members, and area leads to hit daily TAKT times and production targets -Use tools such as grinders, clamps, measuring tapes, levels, squares, and jigs -Maintain welding equipment (liners, tips, gas flow, wire speed, etc.) and troubleshoot basic weld defects -Perform MIG welding on structural frames, brackets, and bus body components to CWB standards -Perform TIG welding on thinner materials and specialty components (where required) -Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and build documentation to determine weld locations and sequence -Follow standard work, CWB procedures, and build sequences to maintain consistency and repeatability -Fit, clamp, square, grind, and prep parts prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and tolerances -Follow all safety requirements, use proper PPE, and maintain a clean, organized workstation

What You Bring

SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must be able to work any of the following shifts, as production needs may change. Shift preference is assigned by seniority. -Proficient MIG welding skills (TIG experience or willingness to learn is an asset) -Reliable, safety-focused, and able to meet production timelines -Physically able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods -Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols -Complete multi-pass welds, overhead welds, vertical welds, and confined-space welds depending on the build area -CWB certification is an asset; must have the ability and willingness to obtain CWB certification -Strong attention to detail and consistent weld quality
