Tasks

-Travel to construction sites, client offices, and supplier facilities as needed. -Oversee comprehensive construction packages including plan & profiles, staking sheets, stringing tables, BOMs, and installation specs. -Ensure high-quality deliverables through peer reviews and QA/QC processes. -Evaluate drawings and specifications for tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and hardware. -Represent Kiewit in industry technical committees and share insights internally. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Advise on proper application of codes and standards. -Train and advise construction teams on engineering engagement and workflows. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Conduct factory audits and witness testing with the Off-Site Supplier Quality (OSSQ) group. -Champion cost-effective, high-quality execution through technical optimization. -Stay current on emerging trends, equipment, and methodologies. -Review transmission line models in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER. -Guide early project strategy for optimal design, procurement, and construction. -Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and client standards. -Serve as Engineer of Record when needed. -Lead targeted training, onboarding, and career path development within the discipline. -Coordinate with the Temporary Structures & Construction Devices (TCSD) team. -Lead technical excellence across large, complex transmission projects and pursuits. -Resolve major technical challenges decisively using industry standards and expertise. -Present technical findings, analyze reports, and draft documentation using Microsoft 365 tools. -Participate in Technical Risk Assessments (TRA) and design validation for EPC pursuits. -Foster knowledge sharing and connectivity across regional teams. -Maintain strong industry relationships to expand Kiewit Engineering’s reach. -Assess vendor calculations and drawings for compliance. -Promote a culture of design excellence and continuous learning. -Ensure drawing packages meet client and code requirements. -Support contract compliance and technical deliverable accuracy. -Provide forensic analysis and corrective action plans for quality issues. -Collaborate with the Principal Transmission Engineer to set strategy, guide discipline initiatives and implement standards, templates, and tools.

What You Bring

-NESC, ASCE, IEEE, RUS, GO-95, PJM, CSA, and others -Regular, reliable attendance -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Familiarity with U.S. and international design standards, including: -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or a related engineering field -10+ years of engineering experience in transmission projects -Strong understanding of engineering and construction standards and processes -PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-TOWER -Proficiency in: -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -MFAD and/or LPILE (both preferred) -Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)
