The Role

Overview

Sell building materials onsite, develop leads, give quotes, and provide customer service.

Tasks

-Develops sales presentations for current and prospective customers, subject to review and approval by Sales Manager or more senior Outside Sales Rep. -Accompanies more experienced Outside Sales Reps or Sales Manager on customer calls to become familiar with effective sales and customer service techniques. -Conducts sales presentations to provide customers clarification how the company can meet their specific requirements. -Work is performed on both company and customer sites and involves driving to customer locations -Pursues leads and gathers market intelligence on opportunities and competitors. -Prepares product quotes for customers. -Presents to customer’s information on various products and services offered by the company. -Identifies potential customers and develops understanding how products and services will meet their needs. -Attends periodic safety meetings as required and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. -Prepares required recurring and special reports, forms or other documentation. -Develops understanding of customer’s needs and matches those needs with company products and services. -Attends company-sponsored training programs, as well as conferences, trade shows and meetings of professional organizations to expand knowledge.

What You Bring

-Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations. -Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations, and may involve walking on uneven ground of a potential customer construction site. -Proficiency in Office Suite -Professionalism, diplomacy and tact to portray a positive manner -Develops knowledge of effective sales techniques, familiarity with industry and understanding of products and services, as well as knowledge of policies and procedures. -Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers. -Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field preferred -Effective presentation skills -Ability to quickly develop expertise in company products, services, policies, procedures and practices -Valid driver’s license -Effective interpersonal and influencing skills -Attention to detail -Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds. -0 - 2 years industry sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
