Tasks

-Assist with training and development of junior designers. -Ensure all designs comply with NFPA codes, local jurisdictional requirements, and project specifications. -Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fire sprinkler system designers. -Provide technical guidance to resolve design issues and respond to RFI/submittal requests. -Review and approve all design submissions for accuracy, efficiency, and code compliance. -Oversee the creation of system layouts and drawings from concept through to final construction documents. -Track and report design team performance metrics to leadership. -Maintain and improve departmental processes, design standards, and best practices. -Coordinate design efforts with sales, estimating, project management, and field installation teams. -Stay current on industry codes, software tools, and technology improvements. -Manage project design timelines to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

What You Bring

-Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications. -Minimum 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design. -Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. -Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13, 14, and 20. -Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. -Proficient in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and/or Revit (BIM experience preferred). -NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred). -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required).
