The Role

Overview

Design and support building automation systems for commercial/industrial HVAC projects

Tasks

-Must build positive working relationships with peers, management, suppliers, and customers. -Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. -Maintain backups of all project documentation including record drawings on construction management software program. -With experience, mentor new employees and assist in their growth -Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Engineering Manager / Project Manager with recommendation for resolution. -Identify any gaps or ambiguity in the project and submit RFIs as required. -Design building automation systems and create project submittals/shop drawings using construction plans and specifications. -Write control sequences and coordinate design intent with programmer. -Attend project turnover meetings with the sales and project team. -Establish & maintain unique customer standards in design/build and plan/spec markets -Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers. -Obtain field markups and revise the shop drawings with any changes for owner records. -Provide operational and technical support/direction to field operations and subcontractors

What You Bring

-Programming experience is a plus. -Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. -DDC or PLC design experience preferred. -Familiarity with third party equipment integration over protocols such as BACnet/Modbus. -In lieu of engineering/technical degree, a combination of verifiable DDC specific training and two or more years of experience will be considered. -Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation. -Associate’s degree in related engineering/technology field required, bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. -Must have excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. -Strong understanding of low voltage electrical wiring. -Experience in engineering, design, or installation/service of HVAC systems -Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail. -Familiarity with building architecture and computer networks. -Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio and other electrical, technical, or construction programs. -Strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial electrical, HVAC, and control theory. -Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel). Advanced experience with spreadsheets a plus.
