BIM Fabrication Designer

Overview

Develop BIM fabrication drawings, Revit models, and coordinate MEP fabrication processes.

Tasks

-Utilize point data and model alignment techniques for accurate fabrication modeling. -Communicate effectively with project teams and subcontractors to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met. -Participate in BIM coordination meetings and lead clash detection/resolution in collaboration with other subcontractors. -Estimate design and fabrication hours for awarded projects. -Produce mechanical skid drawings and coordinate complex plumbing and piping systems fabrication. -Interpret verbal instructions, sketches, and point data effectively converting them into detailed fabrication-ready drawings. -Produce RTS (Robotic Total Station) points for hangers, sleeves, layout, and mechanical equipment installation. -Work closely with project teams to identify and implement pre-fabrication opportunities to optimize field installation. -Create and manage Revit models including creating templates, schedules of components, parts, and BOMs. -Develop detailed fabrication drawings and spool sheets aligned with fabrication LOD 400+ standards. -Review and understand complex construction documents and contract specifications.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in Revit and MEP Design. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Previous field experience and estimating experience are preferred. -Strong understanding of fabrication standards, CAD standards, and construction specifications. -3+ years of experience in mechanical and plumbing system design and fabrication.
