Tasks

-Review and advise on system assurance, RAMS, and certification readiness deliverables. -Perform additional responsibilities as required to support technical reviews, stakeholder coordination, and program execution. -Support and review the development of the System Integration Plan, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and verification/validation documentation. -Provide technical leadership of the CBTC design and implementation process, ensuring compliance with Authority requirements, project standards, and best practices. -Track design maturity, configuration changes, and system readiness milestones, and report progress to the agency. -Review supplier and designer deliverables for technical completeness, ensuring system designs align with CENELEC (EN 50126/8/9), IEEE 1474, and FTA standards. -Coordinate with NYCT operations, safety, and maintenance stakeholders to ensure the design supports operational efficiency, maintainability, and interoperability. -Evaluate and guide system architecture decisions for CBTC subsystems, including vital/non-vital software, interlocking logic, ATS, telecoms, OCC, and train borne equipment. -Collaborate with the requirements management team to ensure requirements traceability and validation across all subsystems and interface control points. -Provide guidance on I2S (Interface Interoperability Specification) compliance and its implications for system integration and migration at NYCT. -Support coordination between the design, testing & commissioning, and safety certification teams to ensure seamless progression from design to validation. -Assess design impacts, risks, and dependencies across contracts; provide recommendations for mitigation and integration.

What You Bring

-Master’s Degree in Engineering -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs. -Deep understanding of CBTC architecture, including vital/non-vital subsystems, interlockings, ATS, telecoms, and OCC interfaces. -Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and configuration control processes. -Working knowledge of interlocking design, block layouts, overlap logic, and control line functions. -Familiarity with Interface Interoperability Specification (I2S) and NYCT’s signal design standards. -Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field -Understanding of test sequencing, verification, and validation of signaling systems within mixed-mode operation. -Proven experience supporting or overseeing complex brownfield CBTC deployments involving multiple suppliers, interfaces, and operational constraints. -10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering, prior transit and rail experience, and infrastructure design. -Minimum of 5 years of CBTC Project experience. -Experience in CBTC technology Minimum of 5 years of CBTC Project experience. -Full understanding of vital and non-vital signal logic, relay-based control circuits, and their translation into CBTC subsystem software.
