Overview

Tasks

-Plan, schedule, conduct, prepare, review, & coordinate transportation engineering work, including studies for safety analyses, traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting, ICE, parking, signal warrant analyses, signal timing, access management, intersections & corridors, & operations. -Prepare information (i.e. project fact sheets, PowerPoint slides, etc.) to explain projects clearly to stakeholders and the public. -Manage traffic operations and safety projects, and assist in resolving complex problems (e.g., conflicting standards or unique traffic safety issues). -Assist in the management of projects. -Supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel in a team. -Lead & assist marketing efforts. -Coordinate projects with stakeholders, including the public, industry partners, clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff. -Communicate and interact with team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project. -Prepare, review, & revise engineering reports, plans, specifications, contract documents, scopes, drawings, schedules, budgets, research, & estimates for minor & major projects

What You Bring

-Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is preferred. -B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering. (M.S. preferred) -5+ years’ experience in traffic engineering, design, and/or planning projects is desired. -Experience in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting transportation and traffic engineering work. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices, and techniques is preferred -Adept in explanation, persuasion, and negotiation of critical issues. Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships is desired. -Knowledge and skill in Synchro, Excel, and OpenRoads are a must. Knowledge of HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CUBE, and TransCAD is desired. -Strong understanding and experience in the use of TEM, HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, and DOT’s Policies and Procedures including the FDOT's policy manuals or similar documents is preferred.
