Tasks

-Operational Leadership: Oversee daily Defence PAS Base operations to meet contractual and legislative requirements. Manage budgets and financials for efficient service delivery. Collaborate with procurement to enhance supplier performance and ensure compliance with Defence standards, policies, and agreements. -Performance & Innovation: Drive innovation and continuous improvement to boost efficiency and service quality. Track KPIs, embed best practices, and lead initiatives for commercial compliance and long-term sustainability. -Emergency & Risk Management: Lead emergency management and business continuity planning activities to ensure preparedness and resilience. Coordinate technical recovery plans in response to critical events, enabling rapid restoration of services and minimising operational disruption. -Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate and lead regular stakeholder engagement meetings to ensure alignment, transparency, and strong working relationships. Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative decision-making and continuous improvement. -Team Development & Culture: Lead a large technical maintenance team, promoting a high-performance, safety-first culture. Provide hands-on leadership through mentoring, daily huddles, and pre-starts. Foster collaboration across teams and regions to drive shared success.

What You Bring

-Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police. -Skilled in managing geographically dispersed teams -7+ years’ experience in a similar operational leadership rol -Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety culture development -Financially astute with contract compliance experience -Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills -Visible and engaging leader -Experienced in emergency and continuity planning -Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities -Proven experience in Defence or complex environments -Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent trade desirable but not essential
