Provide electrical engineering design, project leadership, and client support across Eastern Canada.

Tasks
-Provide mentoring to discipline team members, helping the development of personnel to take more senior roles as their career progresses -Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures -Travel to client sites for survey, construction and commissioning support -Where appropriate, manage projects, maintain and plan cost control, identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process -Provide engineering expertise to deliver work scopes in line with company policies and procedures -Assisting to continuously improve design systems and tools required by the discipline to deliver cost effective and competitive design execution -Plans and prioritizes work to meet client requirements and aligned with organizational goals. With guidance, looks ahead to determine and obtain needed resources to complete projects -Provide support to the business development process to identify and win new work -Collaboratively produce discipline input to proposals -Support Operations and Engineering Managers to produce discipline input to engineering execution plans -Prepare and maintain estimates and schedules -Drive elimination of technical incidents through robust controls, incident reviews, and embedding lessons learned in engineering procedures -Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel, as required -Ensure Health and Safety and environmental regulations are followed methodically -Review, check and approve work output of discipline assigned personnel, as required

What You Bring
-Registered professional engineer with PEGNL -Strong client focus -Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university -7-10+ years of experience in the Power Utility, Mining / Industrial and / or Renewable Energy sectors considered an asset -Travel to client sites will be required, therefore candidate must pass a mandatory site-specific drug and alcohol test, as well as provide a clear record of conduct -Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required -Solid knowledge of CSA Standards and Local Codes -Experience dealing with contractors for on-site construction support and sound understanding of multi-discipline industrial construction planning -Demonstrable experience in managing electrical scopes of multi-disciplinary projects -Excellent verbal and written communication skills
