Tasks

-Performs a final quality check and review of work order prior to sending the vehicle to the detail department -Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards -Installs and repairs truck equipment on damaged vehicles -Maintains a safe and clean work environment -Re-assembles painted vehicle and painted parts -Performs initial tear-down of vehicle -Fills or repairs dents or scratches and smooth surfaces. -Ensures hazardous material is stored and discarded properly -This role occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms -Delivers customer satisfaction throughout repair and verifies quality of work -Completes repairs according to the documentation on the repair order or the supplement -Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts -Mixes paint according to specification, existing colors or customer request and applies paint evenly using a brush or a sprayer -Reviews each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle -Identifies parts for cut-in and edging -Prepares surfaces to be painted by grinding, sanding, or buffing to remove old paint, rust, grease, or other dirt -Assesses and determines repairs necessary to fix specified vehicle -Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission -Performs all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy -Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. -Performs all necessary repairs and ensures work orders are completed within allotted time

What You Bring

-Works in extremely bright or inadequate lighting -Requires regular and punctual employee attendance -Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills -Valid driver’s license, CDL and DOT medical card preferred -Knowledge of welding, heavy duty suspensions, mechanical repairs, metal fabrication, hydraulic and electrical equipment systems -Exposure to high noise levels -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Must be self-motivated with a high commitment to completing tasks in a timely manner -Ability to use repair equipment per vendor procedures -Minimum two years of training and experience in Body Shop with collision repair preferred -Minimum four years of painting (collision repair) and in body/collision paint techniques and detailing preferred -Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions -Two years of experience in a heavy-duty truck Body Shop or automotive body shop environment preferred -Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity -This position is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear -Ability to read, write, and understand information -Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment -Less than 3% travel, based upon training and certifications -High School diploma or GED; any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of education -Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships -Must provide own tools -Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings -Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment -Excellent verbal and written communication skills
