Lead nuclear safety case development and assessments for defence projects.

Tasks

-Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design. -Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate ‘Right First Time’ delivery (incl. designers, client, site, and regulatory body (e.g. DNSR, ONR)). -Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN, etc). -Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy. -Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g. PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports, etc). -Support to Engineering Substantiation activities. -Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.

What You Bring

-You are approachable and can easily build and develop relationships and networks. -Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles. -You will enjoy innovating and problem solving. -You enjoy explaining complex ideas, helping people to ‘get it’, and then watch them go on and achieve more. -Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum). -Chartered (or working towards Chartership status). -You have a proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domain, or other highly regulated industries.
