The Role

Overview

Direct traffic, flag, and manage lane closures for LRT construction projects.

Tasks

-Ensuring that all safety procedures and protocols are followed -Outdoor work in all weather conditions year-round -Removing and relocating traffic equipment as needed -Setting up closures with adequate signage, barricading and cones, lane markings -Completing daily traffic inspections and reports -Performing flagging activities to safely direct vehicles, heavy equipment and foot traffic for the safety of road users and work crews in a construction environment -Safely maintain and monitor all closures

What You Bring

-Safely driving the buffer truck -Previous experience in traffic control in a busy, high-traffic environment -Physically capable of standing for long durations, moving traffic equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditions -Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test -CSTS-2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications (training provided if needed) -Flagger training certificate preferred -Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and multitask within time constraints -Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region -Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract
