Tasks
The Financial Governance and Compliance Function delivers all Integrated Assurance activities and Continuous Controls Monitoring for Uisce Éireann. The function plays a key role in supporting the CFO and other Finance teams in activities related to oversight groups such as the Water Advisory Board, Public Accounts Committee and Oversight Monitoring Group. Additionally, the function is responsible for delivering the Expenditure Approvals Committee process in conjunction with the Commercial Team and drives an effective review process for commercial contracts in Uisce Éireann. It also oversees all Insurance activities for Uisce Éireann and provides preliminary audits and review services of the business on contracts implementation. Reporting to the Insurance Placement Manager, the Insurance Placement Advisor is responsible for supporting the Insurance Placement Team in the delivery of insurance programme placements, handling of insurance queries from the business and other duties as assigned. The Insurance area is not only responsible for ensuring that UE has the most appropriate insurance cover in place, but also for ensuring that insurance related claims are investigated and managed in a cost-effective manner in accordance with policy terms and conditions. The Insurance Placement Team is responsible for supporting the Insurance Placement Manager in the delivery of insurance programme placements for Uisce Eireann incl. the handling of insurance queries from the business and other duties as assigned. -Attend Risk/Site surveys as required -Work closely with the Insurance Placement Manager in the renewal & procurement of Uisce Éireann in accordance with procurement law -Support the Insurance Placement Manager in providing Insurance Services to Uisce Éireann -Liaise with Insurance Brokers and other relevant parties on insurance placement matters, and refer within the team in accordance with agreed governance protocols -Manage the Motor Fleet relationship with the Business and External Parties. -Prepare/up-date and issue Uisce Éireann insurance summaries -Prepare periodic reports to Management -Gather relevant underwriting information, prepare market submissions and finalise quotations prior to placement to assist the Insurance Placement Manager and team in respect of insurance placement and renewal process -Review insurance queries from the business and escalate within the team as required -Analysis of claims reports/experience incl. loss ratio, burning costs, triangulation reports etc to facilitate the renewal process -Maintain/update a database of insurance policy documentation/insurance summaries -Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business -Assist in the preparation of tender documents to the Broker Framework -Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation -Engage with the business in respect of insurance required by third party contractors, contracts, agreements, wayleaves etc., and review all documentation in preparation for sign off by the Insurance Placement Manager in accordance with internal procedures -Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards -Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives -Act as the initial point of contact in the provision of day to day assistance to the business in respect of all matters relating to insurance placement -Reporting directly to the Insurance Placement Manager to assist in the development and delivery of Insurance solutions to Uisce Éireann

What You Bring
This Contract role is available in either Dublin or Cork. -Relevant third level qualification and/or ACII, MDI, CIP/DipCII Insurance Institute of Ireland/Chartered Insurance Institute qualification or equivalent qualification is desirable -Experience using data analytics to challenge decisions and behaviours that don’t align with our values -A minimum of three to five years’ meaningful experience of Corporate Insurance preferably obtained in a Broking environment, In-house environment, Underwriting and/or similar role handling various classes of general insurance -Demonstrated people management experience, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills -Contract savvy, with a knowledge of insurance contract wording is desirable -Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team. -Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements -Demonstrated people management ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff -Ability to seek out ways to innovate and improve processes to improve service standards -Experience in taking ownership of safety responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. -Preferred but not essential experience in day to day operational management of direct reports -Experience in managing a team of professionals, resolving challenges and promoting cross-functional ways of working -Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
