The Role

Overview

Supervises first‑shift fabrication, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time production.

Tasks

-Oversees shipping and receiving. -Analyzes and plans work force utilization, and workflows for maximum efficiency. -Promotes a positive, safe working environment by leading safety meetings, conducting safety observations and encouraging safe work, every day. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch. -Enters production output in ERP system -Executes Strand Extrusion line goals. -Executes both Bar and Strand Fabrication orders to deliver products on time and within budget. -Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees. -Responsible for training and overseeing the work of shop personnel. -Responsible for equipment upkeep in the assigned area. -Responsible for KPI’s in the assigned areas and explaining variances. -Work in both office and plant environments daily.

What You Bring

-Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. -Daily walking of the shop floor and as needed, outside on company grounds. -Ability to communicate performance to Operations Manager -Be able to multi-task, lead and direct shop personnel. -Passion for safety and plant and warehouse safety processes with an eye on safety improvements. -Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suites and Outlook. -High School or equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years’ Operations experience. -Familiar with variety of metals manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures. -Ability to read and interpret drawings -Experience in plant Operations, scheduling, quality assurance and personnel. -Ability to organize and maintain warehouse racks and processes. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. -Familiarity and willingness to learn ERP system (NAV/Business Central) -Comfortable with constantly changing priorities on tight-deadlines and demanding customers. -Ability to work & communicate in diverse groups from manufacturing floor workers to senior management -Has an eye for continuous improvement. -Familiar with warehouse storage and organization. -Experience with order pulling, verifying and staging. -Recognize waste in manufacturing processes and work to eliminate waste at every turn.
