Overview
Build, test, and troubleshoot HVAC prototypes in a fast‑paced R&D lab.

Tasks
-Support preventive maintenance schedules for lab facilities and equipment. -Assemble parts, components, and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, blueprints, or work instructions. -Work at the frontier of innovation and commercial HVAC retrofit strategy. -Diagnose and correct equipment for malfunctions, leaks, and instrumentation faults. -Set up, operate, and maintain test rigs, Bambu 3D printers, climate chambers, and airflow systems. -Interpret data and maintain accurate logs, calibration records, and test documentation. -Operate and maintain power tools and assembly equipment such as presses, drills, jigsaws, brazing torches and soldering irons. -Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and relevant codes/regulations. -Assemble, solder, and wire electronic components, PCBs, and subassemblies according to schematics or drawings. -Operate data acquisition software to record and monitor test results in real-time. -Conduct performance, efficiency, and durability testing on Helix units and components, in both the lab and in the field (rooftop, etc.). -Help shape the future of cooling and carbon removal technology. -Maintain laboratory cleanliness, properly storing equipment and inventory upkeep. -Follow laboratory safety procedures, including refrigerant handling, electrical safety, and PPE use. -Install, calibrate, and maintain measurement instruments (thermocouples, manometers, pressure transducers, flow meters, hygrometers, etc.). -Develop and scale technologies that transform comfort and energy use in buildings. -Collaborate with a driven, mission-aligned team focused on high impact and fast execution.

You’re a hands-on R&D Technician with strong mechanical and electrical skills, ready to dive into the fast-paced world of HVAC innovation. You’re equally comfortable with wiring control systems, assembling prototypes, and performing precision brazing as you are troubleshooting complex setups or running lab tests. You take ownership of your work—from concept to build validation—and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment. You enjoy solving problems, learning new tools, and collaborating with engineers to push the boundaries of HVAC performance and reliability We're looking for exceptional talent to join our journey. Join us in creating a cooler, cleaner planet for generations to come. -Familiarity with HVAC testing standards is an asset. -Electrical and control system knowledge (reading wiring diagrams, troubleshooting wiring) required. -Experience using instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and humidity measurements. -Familiarity with SolidWorks and Microsoft suite required. -Proficiency with brazing and brazing equipment required. -2+ years of experience in laboratory settings. -Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, airflow, and psychometrics. -EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) is preferred but not required. -Associate degree or technical diploma in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred but not required).
