Penspen

The Role

Overview

Provides chemical treatment & flow assurance consulting for oil & gas production.

Key Responsibilities

  • root cause
  • flow assurance
  • corrosion risk
  • chemical treatment
  • scale management
  • model review

Tasks

-Root cause analysis (RCA) studies and detailed investigation of failures of equipment and systems associated with corrosion and/or chemical management. -Flow assurance modelling and corrosion risk assessment of multi-phase well fluid, crude oil, wet gas and condensate pipelines. -Provides expertise in the identification of corrosion, DRA, scale & Asphaltene problems and subsequently in the designing & preparation of chemical treatment programs. -Establish objectives, parameters and methods for chemical treatment programs and chemical performance follow-up requirements. -Assessment of risk of oilfield scale and corrosion problems, separation and produced water handling and mitigation through chemical treatment. -Provides expert advice on proper handling and usage of flow assurance chemicals for surface facilities. -Review and analysis of flow assurance modelling data pertaining to wells, pipelines, piping, etc. to improve field and system productivity. -Provides expert advice on ‘Scope of Work’ for chemical selection process and testing criteria, includes efficiency, compatibility and core-flood experiments. -Management of existing production chemicals applications by providing cost effective solutions to control corrosion, reduce deposition, save energy, treat produced water for reuse or disposal specifications, maintain Water Injection Quality, curtail downtime, increase productivity and optimize system performance. -Process chemical solutions for scale, Asphaltene, hydrates and water injection system quality control including biological control. -Provide advice on corrective actions for any problem related to chemical treatment programs and assist where necessary in internal/external quality audit. -Establish Chemical Selection requirement and acquire proper treatment criteria and relevant analysis required for downhole and surface facilities. -Study the performance of regular intervention activities to improve flow assurance, such as frequent pigging and injection of chemical inhibitors or drag-reducing agents. -Participate in special studies per management directives on any specific or multidimensional issues related to production chemistry to diagnose the problem and recommend appropriate & effective solution. -The scope includes provision of consultancy services for review of reservoir modelling studies to develop new well treatment technologies associated with corrosion management and flow assurance.
