Tasks

-Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools. -Observes production machines in assigned area of manufacturing facility to detect machinery malfunctions. -Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meter, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping. -Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment. -Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks. -Welds pipe supports to structural steel members. -Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine. -Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools. -Threads pipe using threading machine. -Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies. -Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures -Helps sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers. -Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.

-Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Learns to cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine. -Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager. -Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at times. -Frequently reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. -Prolonged periods of standing and walking. -Experience with hydronic and refrigeration piping processes -Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, large roof top equipment -Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical system -Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or pulling. -Knowledge of codes -Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with good driving record at time of application and during employment.
