Senior Solutions Engineer, PLC Programmer

Overview

Design and implement PLC-based energy monitoring and automation solutions.

Tasks

-Work with the Test and Quality control team to identify issues related to automation -Identifies problems as they occur and takes proactive steps to solve them. -Review schematics for circuit breakers controls, PLC automation systems, and network architecture. -Prepare explanations to enable proper interpretation/evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics, or other technical data. -Write standard and customized SOO and test procedures based on customer specifications -Ensures adherence to defined guidelines, processes, and procedures, for project creation by reviewing engineering schematics. -Support the Test and Quality control team at the manufacturing floor environment in testing and troubleshooting Sm@rtGear jobs. -Integration of third-party devices into PLC Program. -Remotely support site solution engineers and other site technicians (internal or external) in troubleshooting automation related issues. -Implements hardware and software for energy management/monitoring solutions and Sm@rtGear Apparatus.

What You Bring

-Experience with S7 PLC Redundancy. -Experience with the following communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, OPC. -Experience with serial communications (i.e. RS 485) and conversions to TCP/IP. -Must possess the ability to travel up to 50% to provide field training. -Network, Communication Protocols, and Troubleshooting skills. -Time and task management skills (e.g., Project Manager, Project Engineer). -Ability to work independently as well as work with other groups or teams. -Follows basic standard project documentation for project completion. -Strong communication skills are both written and verbal. -5 plus years of prior professional experience in Automation Systems, Testing and Solutions. -In depth experience with Utilities, Metering, and/or Networking (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus) -Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future. -Proficient with various programming languages, Ladder, C++, SCL, etc. -Associate degree in engineering or computer information systems. -Experience creating custom graphics for use with HMI GUI. -Experience working with TIA Portal environment with Step 7 and WinCC Professional and Unified Engineering. -Independently performs basic tasks and functions for professional field work. -Understands and applies safety procedures. -Experience with DIGSI and Siprotec Relays. -In Depth PLC programming experience. -Knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems including servers.
