Tasks
-Provide expert troubleshooting and hands-on repair assistance to customers. -Build strong relationships with Authorized Service Centers in your territory. -Actively promote Multiquip’s sales and service initiatives to increase departmental and company revenue. -Act as the key liaison between customers and Multiquip for technical concerns. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. -Support creation of service bulletins, manuals, and training materials. -Perform field repairs to support service goals and drive revenue growth. -Keep accurate records of service activities and customer interactions in CRM systems. -Conduct warranty inspections and authorize claims as needed. -Deliver technical training and guidance to internal teams and customers. -The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, feel, or manipulate objects; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed. -Diagnose issues, prepare estimates, and ensure timely job completion. -Oversee daily field service operations, including repairs, training, and technical support. -Submit detailed service reports and technical feedback. -Recommend and support use of MQ filter kits. -Promote MQ service and preventive maintenance programs—both in the field and at MQ factory service centers. -Identify and encourage opportunities for direct parts sales through Multiquip.

What You Bring
-Willing to travel for field repairs and customer support. -Experienced in using diagnostic and service software to troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment effectively. -Skilled in troubleshooting complex systems and interpreting technical documents. -Clear communicator, able to explain technical info to various audiences. -Electrical safety certification or qualifications are considered a strong plus. -Power Generation & Controls: Experienced with generator controllers, voltage systems, AVRs, and PLCs; adept at software updates and system optimization. -Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds -Industry Experience: 5+ years as a Power Generation Technician, with advanced skills in electrical and diesel engine repair (Tier 4 engines preferred). -Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create reports, presentations, and professional communications. -Electrical & Maintenance Expertise: Skilled in reading schematics, performing complex electrical repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance on various equipment. -Education: Associate degree or 5+ years of hands-on experience in power generation. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are welcome. -Must be able to operate standard tools and equipment for repairs. -Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based service tools. -Advanced Troubleshooting: Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software. -Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport. -Ability to travel within the United States and Internationally. Travel requirements can exceed 80%. -The role frequently requires standing, walking, climbing, and sitting for extended periods. -Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Able to interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents. -Problem-Solving: Skilled at troubleshooting and adapting to non-standard situations using written, verbal, or visual instructions. -Communication & Reporting: Clear communicator with customers and capable of producing detailed technical service documentation. -Strong mechanical and electrical skills, especially with diesel generators. -Engine Systems: Strong diesel engine diagnostics and repair capabilities, including overhauls and after-treatment servicing. -Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Efficiency & Time Management: Proven ability to complete advanced technician-level tasks accurately and productively. -Completion of technical training courses, certification programs, or graduation from a technical school is preferred. -Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities. -Communication: Clear and professional communicator with the ability to understand and explain technical materials and respond effectively to customers and team members.
