Ghd
The Role
Overview
Design and analysis of large-diameter tunnel projects for transit and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- data management
- technical troubleshooting
- reservoir analysis
- engineering design
- data analysis
- knowledge management
Tasks
-Data Management: Help others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice. -Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. -Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments. -Prepare tunnel reports input to the tunnel component of proposals -Reservoir Characterization and Analysis: Assist with reservoir characterization and simulation by compiling reservoir engineering data and helping to analyze it. This could include data from flow tests and well tests, as well as data on historical production performance. -Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. -assisting in responding to technical and administrative tasks associated with the development of tunnels and stations. -Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. -Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design. -carry out analysis as directed by senior members of the team for tunnel liners and shaft design using PLAXIS, FLAC, Rocscience, etc. -Assist GHD with project pursuits and proposal writings -Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. -Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role. -assist with project work within GHD’s Rail and Transportation business and support other tunnelling projects across Canada or internationally, as opportunities present. -Knowledge Management: Implement policies and processes, collect best practices and case studies, and participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in allocated projects. -Geoscientific Studies and Interpretations: Contribute to well proposals by providing complex analysis and interpretation of geological/geophysical field data. Involves using advanced modeling techniques. -Attend client meetings along with supervisor -Exploration Plan Development: Provide the design of exploration programs, including risk assessment and budgeting. -Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
