Tasks

-Create, modify, maintain, and process records and transactions using the State Surplus Property Database (SSP) as well as the NYS Store’s online site. -Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications to perform other related duties as required. -Advertise surplus items on the intranet and track status. -Work professionally and effectively with various state agencies, municipalities, and the general public. Refer inquiries as necessary. -Prepare and produce daily sales listings for public view. -Gather information and correspond with the public regarding questions on items offered for sale. -Process agency transfers, review storage receipts and communicate with warehouse staff. -Operate various communication systems such as telephones and computers; and keep records of such communications. -Understand and enforce rules and regulations in accordance with the State Finance Law, auction contract, and internal procedures.

Benefits

-There is no examination required for appointment to a NY HELPS position. Candidates hired via NY HELPS will be appointed on a permanent non-competitive basis and will begin a probationary period.
