The Role

Overview

Lead interior design, documentation, and coordination for commercial projects.

Tasks

-Lead charrettes and the generation of design ideas. -Collaborate with project teams to develop the approach for project pursuits, proposals and interviews. -Create graphics and presentation materials, including renderings of conceptual design ideas and graphic diagrams. -Assist in construction administration, including responding to RFI’s, preparing sketches and addendums, and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or prepare punch lists. -Collaborate to elevate design thought and awareness in studio as we aspire to succeed as creative thinkers and innovators. -Lead and drive the development of design projects, including all aspects of Interior Design. -Ensure continuity and consistency of design deliverables, and meet project schedules, budgets, and deadlines. -Participate in client meetings and presentations. -Lead, evaluate and synthesize project programming information. -Develop and complete full contract document sets, including floor plans, elevations, RCP, millwork, details & specific schedules. -Coordinate with consultants, including architectural, lighting, landscape, structural, MEP, AV and IT. -Work with design leaders to initiate overall design strategy and design approach for projects. -Lead development of design presentations and graphic visualization. -Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate FF&E, materials and products. -Develop and complete full FF&E procurement packages, including furniture specifications and budget estimates. -Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.

What You Bring

-Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment on multiple projects -Knowledge of construction materials, details, and standards -Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permit and bid -Excellent Revit and Rendering skills -Ability to accommodate some local travel (valid driver’s license required) -NCIDQ Certification (or within 12 months of employment) -Ability to effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing -Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up, Enscape or other 3D modeling software -Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of FF&E procurement documents -10 years experience in designing commercial interior projects -Knowledge of building regulations and safety codes -Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail -Bachelor’s in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent major -Minimum of 6 years experience in designing commercial interior projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines -Detail and process oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation -Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixtures, equipment, finishes, lighting, and signage
