Tasks

-Serve as the on-site Safety Specialist, supporting both site-specific and companywide safety programs. -Partner with shop supervisors and project personnel to promote a safe working environment. -Promote employee engagement through visible leadership, safety communications, and hands-on participation in safety initiatives. -Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate PPE and mitigation strategies. -Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards; document findings and implement corrective actions. -Review job hazard analysis and advise personnel on need for and proper use of personal protective equipment -Conduct audits, identify hazards, and recommend facilities or process improvements to enhance safety. -Generate and submit HSE reports and metrics as required by management or regulatory bodies. -Help prepare and conduct regular safety toolbox talks or other brief safety meetings. -Lead or participate in incident investigations, supporting leadership accountability for safety outcomes. -Support the development and delivery of basic safety training and new-hire employee safety orientations. -Administer and track performance metrics and conduct incident investigations with root cause analysis. -Maintain familiarity with Redstone Arsenal procedures and safety requirements. -Act as a resource for safety training, data analysis, and document control. -Work is primarily conducted in office or shop environments, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions. -Review and manage subcontractor safety plans and ensure alignment with company and regulatory standards.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. -Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations. -BCSP Desired. -Proficiency with electronic safety systems and applications. -Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization. -Ability to apply and interpret Federal OSHA regulations and other standards (Building Code, National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association), and have good oral and written communication skills -Strong interpersonal/communication skills as the position involves interfacing with customers and on-site personnel. Candidate must be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and excel for presentations, reports and other uses. -Knowledge of confined space entry, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other safety. programs. -comfortable delivering training to diverse audiences. -Solid working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements -Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Must be in excellent physical condition and comply with all applicable safety regulations and company policies. -Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing/sitting, and working in potentially hazardous environments. -Familiarity with AR 385-10 and other Department of the Army safety regulations. -Must be able to distinguish colors and communicate effectively via verbal, written, and electronic means. -Proficiency with EXCEL, WORD and other Microsoft Office Suite programs. -At least 3-5 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental programs. -Understand and apply protocols specific to CBA employees and various skilled trades.
