Tasks

-Collaborate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions -Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms -Assist in the preparation of contract documents and procurement strategies -Prepare, process, and negotiate change orders with clients and contractors -Implement, maintain, and monitor cost control procedures throughout the project lifecycle -Provide input and support in the preparation and assessment of financial claims -Update and maintain the cost database for future reference -Develop and analyze bills of quantities for tender documentation -Undertake quantity measurement for inclusion in cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities -Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs -Conduct market testing and analyze tender returns to support rate benchmarking -Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment -Review and evaluate tender submissions from contractors -Evaluate variations, additions, and omissions, and incorporate findings into monthly cost reports

What You Bring

-Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines -Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills -In-depth knowledge of project costing and budgeting -Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying -Strong mathematical and analytical skills -Adaptability to changing project requirements and industry trends -Experience in preparing tender documents and contract administration -Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) -Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams -Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes -Professional certification from a recognized quantity surveying body (e.g., RICS) is advantageous -Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications -Excellent communication and negotiation skills -Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
