The Role

Overview

Design, analyze, and manage gas station and facility projects for utility clients.

Tasks

-Assign tasks to and coordinate with drafting and administrative staff -Assign tasks to and coordinate work of Associate Engineers and technicians or administrative staff within team -Prepare construction specification and bid package -Coordinate various inspection and testing methods, gather data, analyze, and report findings -Facilitate design review meetings with key stakeholders -Perform research and investigations -Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, layouts, and studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, specifications, and instructions requiring knowledge of engineering practices and shop and field procedures -Work closely with other workgroups at our clients' place of business and KLF offices -Assist in determining schedule & budget requirements -Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods -Project Management: Manage multiple projects, prioritization, time management and delegating work to team members -Provide guidance, instruction, and coaching to entry-level and other Engineers on team -Utilize modeling software for Pipe Stress Analysis assessment and generate report -Oversee field testing of newly installed facilities -Evaluate methodologies, best practice, tools, processes, procedures and technology; assessing potential fit, benefit, and impact for engineering work -Perform station design and material selection -Develop status reports with task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions -Perform gas system network and hydraulic analysis -Prepare portions of project documents -Review designs and documentation to ensure compliance with codes, standards and design criteria -Create feasibility studies -Utilize calculators and software to size equipment based on flow parameters -Perform and manage moderate design tasks

What You Bring

-Utility business understanding (Desired) -Understand gas metering, regulation and SCADA -Proficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint -3-6 years relevant experience -Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software (Desired) -Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related Engineering degree) -Suggest improvements to process, and is a knowledge resource for other team members -Demonstrate sound engineering judgment -Engineer-In-Training Certification (Desired) -Understand and utilize station maintenance practices -Valid Driver's license
