The Role

Overview

General labor for aerial/underground construction, fiber blowing, and equipment handling.

Tasks

-Be involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified -Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks -Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment -Support with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by Foreman or Supervisor -Learn all inventory and equipment required for these projects -Conduct maintenance services as directed by Foreman to include: Cleanup, Wash Vehicles, Landscaping -Be involved in map reading and directions -Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks -Conduct placement of conduit as directed by Foreman or Supervisor -Conduct Aerial/Underground work as needed and directed and as trained -Perform fiber blowing operations as directed, assisting in the installation of fiber optic cable in conduits using fiber-blowing equipment -Climb poles with climbing equipment safely -Move and relocate RF and Fiber service -Troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issues -Construct and repair underground RF and Fiber service -Support with trench digging and closing -Conduct general labor on construction sites

What You Bring

-Climbing certification or related experience -Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills -You can lift and carry up to 70 lbs -Practical working experience in overhead construction for both RF and Fiber -Extensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networks -Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines -You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work -Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment -Have the ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process -Knowledge of Overhead Bill of Materials -Ability to read and understand design schematics and maps -Learn how to read and construct from a design schematic of map -As applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment: Line truck, Bucket truck, Cable Reel equipment, Saws and drills -You have a clean driving record -You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality -Flagger Certified for field work as needed -You have a valid Driver’s License -City, County, and State clearance code knowledge and related
