Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff to foster technical excellence and best practices.
Design and implement remediation and risk management strategies for a variety of sites across Alberta and the North .
Review and deliver clear, concise and accurate technical reports, remedial action plans and regulatory submissions.
Lead and sign off on Phase ESAs and remedial investigations in accordance with CSA Z768/Z769, provincial regulations or CCME guidelines.
Stay current on general trends in the technical field and market sector.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulators.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Contributing to identifying and securing new business opportunities and marketing activities.
Manage projects according to the approved scope of work and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget.
Design, manage and/or conduct environmental site assessment and remediation programs such as overseeing field sampling programs (borehole drilling, well installation).

A Bachelors or Masters degree in an environmental discipline or environmentally related engineering discipline.
The successful candidate must have experience with Contaminated Sites assessment and remediation in Alberta and also, preferably in the North.
Knowledge/experience with Alberta Subsoil Salinity Tool Version 3.0 would be considered an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, leadership and mentorship skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term, successful professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
Experience with a variety of sites and clients including municipalities and other levels of Government, industry, and upstream/downstream petroleum.
Current and sound knowledge of AB and Federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
Professional registration in other Canadian provinces and territories (NT, NU in particular) would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 12 years of relevant, hands-on technical experience, preferably in consulting.
Some travel will be required in this position.
Professional registration such as P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Ag. in Alberta and ability to register in other Canadian provinces and territories.
Leadership skills and experience and the desire to train, mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff within the team.
Several years of experience establishing and maintaining client relationships is required.
Experience mentoring and directing staff to conduct high quality technical work.
Ability to obtain a Permit to Practice in AB would be considered an asset.
