Tasks
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing fire protection systems, conducting all steps to ensure quality and compliance, and coordinating with the department supervisor and applicable sales representative. -Communicate with contractors and AHJs under supervision -Compile the foreman’s pack, including all necessary forms and paperwork. -Apply mathematical concepts, such as geometry, fractions, and measuring -Finalize fabrication techniques with the appropriate stakeholders -Design small commercial and/or residential fire sprinkler systems with general supervision -Complete final shop drawings showing all pertinent information -Conduct construction site review/survey on buildings if needed. -Generate materials lists for completed designs -Process all necessary close-out documents -Submit plans to General Contractors/owners and follow specifications. -Use CAD in the design of fire protection systems -Perform hydraulic calculations for designed projects -Coordinate with other trades

Do you have experience in water-based systems layout? Are you interested in joining a growing organization that is a design center of excellence? We may have a position for you! -Understand of code compliance and local AHJ requirements for standard systems -NICET certification preferred -Analytical and critical thinking skills -Ability to read and interpret documents, such as blueprints, codes, standards, specifications, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions -3+ years of current fire sprinkler design experience -Strong knowledge of all NFPA standards 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 25 -Ability to communicate effectively in-person and electronically -Time management and organizational skills -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite -Ideally recent experience designing in AutoSPRINK
