Tasks

-Check the progress of work and alert the Project Manager to changes in scope or additional services. -Writes scope of work for mechanical or utility design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client. -Assists in the education and development of design staff and acts as a resource for design questions. -The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas. -Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required. -Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals. -Prepares or reviews construction budgets based on experience and scope of the project. -Promotes use of and participates in the development of company design and production standards. -Assigns and reviews the work of the project design team. -Reviews contractor application for payments. -Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyzes the operation of existing systems. -Assesses the requirements of a project, breaks a project into tasks, and works with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.

What You Bring

-Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting. -10+ years' previous design experience. -Has a thorough understanding of the construction process. -Registered Professional Engineer strongly preferred. -Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. -General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in specific discipline-related areas (Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process).
