The Role

Overview

Assist in constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures at ATCO's Calgary plant

Tasks

-Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds -Read and interpret drawings. -Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles -Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions. -Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue. -Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes -Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.

What You Bring

-Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes -Ability to work in a team environment. -Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools as well as other building materials. -Previous experience with modular units is considered an asset -Ability to read and interpret blueprints. -Actively registered Apprentice Carpenter (2nd, 3rd,4th year or Journeyman)
