Software Engineering Web Intern

Overview

Assist in developing full-stack web applications for Valmont's Agriculture division.

Tasks

-Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js -Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and workflows -Develop and consume RESTful or GraphQL APIs to connect front-end interfaces with back-end services -Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using both front-end and back-end technologies -Support server-side development using languages like Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP -Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and software engineers to understand requirements and deliver features -Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) to store, manage, and retrieve data efficiently -Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives -Conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure code reliability -Identify and resolve bugs to improve application performance and security

What You Bring

-Strong knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) -Basic understanding of back-end development using Node.js, Python, Java, or similar languages -Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines is preferred -Familiarity with version control systems (Git) -Knowledge of clean code principles and efficient debugging techniques -Exposure to containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes is preferred -Demonstrated practical experience through personal projects, GitHub repositories, or open-source contributions preferred -Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field -Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility -Experience with server-side frameworks such as Express (Node.js), Django, Flask, or Spring Boot is preferred -An understanding of web security principles (OWASP Top 10) and data protection best practices is preferred -Experience with DevOps practices or system monitoring tools preferred
