The Role

Lead bridge design & project management for state and local structures

Tasks

-Inspection, assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges. -Conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel and timber components. -Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans. -Managing bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff. -Load evaluation of existing bridges. -Providing specialized technical input on transportation related projects.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -10 years' experience in bridge design -Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools -Experience in preparation of technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction. -Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software) -Project experience on State DOT projects in WIA current -Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex structures. -Ability to pass MVR check. -Project management skills. -Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing. -PE license in the State of WI or on track to attain within one year of employment if hired. -Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
